Wednesday, December 8th was the 8th night of the Feast of Dedication:
Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has given to us holidays, customs and seasons for gladness and for the glory of
Yeshua the Messiah, our Lord,
the light of the world.
The final night of the Feast of Dedication. Where has this week-long journey taken us? We remembered God's miracle of provision - the provision of victory during the Maccabees battles, the provision of oil to light the lamp during the rededication of the Temple, the provision of Mary's conception with Jesus, the provision of Jesus himself. We remember that nothing is impossible with God!!
God's Miracle of Victory = God's Miracle of Mary's conception
God's Miracle of providing Oil = God's Miracle of providing Jesus
The light in the Temple symbolizes God = Jesus is the Light of the World
The Temple is where God dwells = God dwells within us; we are His Temple
The Temple is cleansed = We cleanse our Temples
The Temple is purified = We purify our Temples
The Temple is rededicated = We rededicate our Temples to Jesus
After cleansing our hearts, repenting our sins, and forgiving others we were ready to partake in Communion on this final evening of the Feast of Dedication. Luke 22:19-20: And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you."
